Welcome to Norwayshire skrevet av Henrik Elvestad (01.06.2007 11:30) Its a great honour to welcome you alle to the supporterclub of the, at the moment, worst team in Britain. It was during our winter visit at Firs Park, the home ground of the Shire, that we understood that this club was special. We have to support it somehow. And here is the result. A brand new Norwegian fanclub.
Coming to Firs Park for the first time was very special. The pitch is located in Falkirk, a classic, somewhat grey, town in the middle of Scotland. After endless searching, cursing both GPS and map, we finally found the stadium in between an industrial area and a shopping mall. We got a fantastic reseption by both players, coaches and various backroomstaff. And what stood out was that East Stirling has got everything that a big club has got (kit-manager, physio-room, supporter-shop, boot-room, loyal fans, tea-room etc) only in a smaller scale. And on top of that, they've got a Norwergian defensive cliff called Carl. Can it be better/stranger?
I'd like to see a Norwegian club at the same level attracting 250-300 spectators every game. This tells a bit about the importance of football in Scotland, but also it tells something about this particular clubs appeal. If you are ever in Scotland, don's hesitate to visit Falkirk and Firs Park. It will be a visit you'll hardly forget.
And then we wish the Shire good luck in the preseason and in the upcoming seasong. They'll need it.

PS: I would like to add that we are totally overwhelmed by the responce we have got from all of you out there. We are fastly approaching 5000 members, making us the third largest supporterclub for a British team in Norway! We can also report from Firs Park that the players and staff are shocked by the interest.
